If only there were more hours in a day

Or more specifically, in a stitchalong evening!

A rare opportunity

Essie and I attempt to get together as often as possible, but since I live in the UK and she lives in The Netherlands, this doesn't happen nearly as often as we'd like.  We've been friends for almost 14 years and chat at least once a week.  We have visited each other at least once a year for the last 11 years.  Amazing when you think that it all began with our shared passion for cross stitching.

This weekend Essie and her family visited ours and gave us an opportunity to have a proper stitch-fest.

Mine is on the left and Essie's on the right.

Since its our usual stitchy day, we've added a few more stitches.

It's countdown now until we next get together in summer 2019.

A little change of pace.

I couldn't think what to stitch next so rooting through my to do pile this little gem caught my eye.

The kit is "Silent Thoughts" by a company called Pearsall's which I've not encountered before.  They have their own band threads, a Kreinik metallic thread and a bag of beads.

It has actually been started by my hardanger designer friend, so the baton has been passed to me to complete.

It appears that the company no longer sells kits or charts, but the threads are still available by the look of things.

Each tiny cross

It's amazing how lots of tiny crosses can create something so detailed.

Hulk page finish

It's been a while since I've worked on the Hulk as I've had a Christmas present on the go, along with finishing a project for our friends in the Midlands, and of course the weekly stitchalong with Essie.

Since there are only two pages left, and part pages at that, I envisage this project to be completed in the next week.
