Finishes, WIPs and wishes. When I'm not gardening, I'm stitching. I learned to cross stitch when I was 17 and I haven't looked back. A day without any x's is a wasted day.

Further progress.
A stitchy day with my lovely Hardanger designer friend Colly resulted in a further page finish.

Arrival of the frogs
I had a day off this week and once all the boring housework was done I sat down with a nice cup of tea and finished stitching the next page. I then laid the fabric out to take a photo and to my dismay discovered I had stitched the wrong page!
I spent the remainder of Wednesday, into the evening, and all the following evening carefully unpicking it.
For those who don't understand the title, let me explain. The 'rrribbit' sound a frog makes is akin to 'rip it rip it' of unpicking threads stitched incorrectly...hence the term frogging or having the dreaded frogs visit.
A quick going over with masking tape to remove the fluffy bits left behind, and I'm ready to stitch the correct page.
Lesson learned - double check you're working from the correct page and maybe look at your project more often.

A new start
This year sees the 20th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, a series which has sold around 450 million copies in 29 languages and then led to a movie franchise worth more than £5 billion.
Staying therefore with the Magical World, it is a natural progression for me to take on a project I've been eyeing up for some time.
Hogwarts Castle.
I do hope the finished product will live up to the photograph.
There are 35 pages and 47 colours.
Shouldn't take long....

Quick stitch
It's not a secret, we're all huge fans of The Wizarding World created by JK Rowling.
This is a little chap is called a Niffler.
"Fluffy, black, and long-snouted, this burrowing creature has a predilection for anything glittery.....they are often kept by goblins to burrow deep into the earth for treasure."
